The trail gradually narrowed with cliffs to the south and became more slablike. With care, around 12 noon we emerged at the summit for views, conversation and lunch. Evan ventured over to the more challenging southerly peak. A raven circled scrounging for food so we gave it a dog biscuit that was lying around.
With photos taken and a gusty cool wind we did not linger too much but descended carefully down the rubbly talus and slab. I would not like to do this in the wet and definitely not with ice, but today it was quite dry with only the occasional small patch of inconsequential snow. With stops we were back at the cars about 2.30pm. Apparently my 5th ascent of this peak. 9.5km, 950m elevation gain in 5 1/2 hours. Nice day. C&S David with a good group of participants: Terry,David,Carl,Chip,Evan,Gary, Kevin.
Ps. There's still plenty of snow to the south and west depending on aspect.
