We enjoyed the most varied and beautiful badlands hiking anywhere in Alberta, with high contrast provided by spruce forest, badlands, plains, the river and the isolated flat top mesa or "Dry Island." The crocus and moss phlox were in bloom. A coyote was seen on the plains. Weather was sunny and mild. Thirteen of the group enjoyed the buffet in Carbon.
