Starting at Goat Pond, we travelled along the south end of the peak. Great animal trails / old logging roads were prominent.
Ascending the south ridge, we encountering difficult scrambling higher up.
Our end point on the ridge was about 400 m south of the south peak.
The terrain further north looked too time consuming for our remaining time. Although sources such as the maps and sat photos suggest an easy ridge, it appears to be quite broken.
However, views were great.
Mount Berrsheba (3054 m.) is a little known peak with an impressive north glacier, unfortunately not visible from this angle.
We decided to downclimb the east face. Although it required careful work, it gave us a shorter return than the ascent.
The lower creek showed amazing erosion from the recent floods.
We even encountered the Goatview glacier.
Thanks to Alda and Arnold for joining me on this exploration. Bill
