After a short break at the lake we proceeded up the amphitheatre slopes to the Niblock-Whyte col.
At the col another rest break allowed the group to enjoy the great views and inspect the scramble conditions on Mt Whyte. Due to safety concerns, a unanimous group decision was made to only do Mount Niblock and leave Whyte for another year.
We proceeded up the summit block slopes which were dry for the most part, but did have isolated sections of snow and even a few small icy spots.
It didn't take long to top out on the narrow summit ridge and traverse to the summit cairn.
Under cloudless blues skies, the view from the summit was spectacular.
The warm sun and windless conditions resulted in a very long and enjoyable summit lunch. This included a Ramblers performance of the Village People song 'YMCA".

Given that it was such a perfect weather day and with Whyte a no-go, the group decided to add Mount St. Piran to our day. This meant contouring left half way down the amphitheatre over mostly vegetated slopes to Goat Pass. From there another 40 minutes of hiking up brought us to the top of Mount St. Piran.

Piran offered it's own set of great mountain views. After a 15-20 minute break at the top we headed down trail, arriving back at the vehicles at 5:15 PM. Thanks to Jeannine, Damian, Susan, Brian and John for sharing an amazing day in the mountains with me Kevin (S/C). Total distance covered was 18 km and net elevation gain including St Piran was 1550 metres.
