Yoho Pass (and lake) - Burgess Pass loop Trail Hike on 27-Jul-2014

It was a great day for a hike with cool temperatures when we left the trailhead at 9:35am. After making our way around the west of Emerald Lake we ascended quickly up to Yoho Pass.

We arrived at Yoho Lake at 11:55am just in time for lunch.

Laszlo was the only one brave enough to go for a dip in the lake.

After a short lunch we proceeded to the Wapta Highline Trail. The afternoon hike did not disappoint with views of a multitude of Peaks and Glaciers as you can see from the photos.

The decent from the Burgess Lookout to the lake is a relentless series of switchbacks. I lost count of how many. We were glad when they were over. We got back to the Trailhead parking lot at 5:00pm.

The trailhead to Lookout highpoint gain in elevation was 921m and close to 1000m if you allow for the downs and ups. Total distance was 21.3km.

Thanks to Cornelis, Ron, Laszlo, Pat, Barbara, Barry, Wendy, Kathy, Mario, Carolyn, Kim, David and Guest Peter D. for joining me, Harold for a great day in the mountains.
