We had the trail to ourselves at Jumpingpound Loop today.

After the short drive, we started on the upper trail. It was bare in sections, and ice/snow covered in many parts. Three of us chose to wear our traction devices for the full hike, and one had no problems leaving them in his pack.

Temperatures were mild throughout, starting off around -2, and rising to +6 by early afternoon. There was very little wind, but the cloudy conditions limited the views.

We enjoyed a comfortable early lunch at the group campground with picnic tables in an open area near the creek, and then returned to the vehicle via the lower trail.
