The trailhead is an easily located gated access road which leads to the summit. Mostly in the trees with occasional views and at the summit some rather nice views of surrounding high points. The observer was quite friendly and joined us for the group photo. We used her picnic area out of the wind to have lunch. On the return a little drainage side detour to follow the creek was attempted more for for interests sake than anything) but we found too much deadfall so returned to the road. We completed the loop driving home through Sundre and stopped at a nice little coffee place in town just before it closed. This trip was new territory for most and the group enjoyed getting off the beaten Rambler track to try some new terrain in unfamiliar surroundings. For a number of people it was the first time they had been up the forestry trunk road past Mockingbird Lookout.
Thanks everyone Ivan, Yoko, Norman, Teresa, Douglas, Janetand Jane for making a nice social day of this easy trip.
