Cascade Amphitheatre snowshoe Snowshoeing on 10-Feb-2013

Perfect winter weather for the mountains. Absolutely clear and no wind making for a great trip. Most just hiked up the trail as it was fairly consolidated making the amphitheatre in just a couple of hours. Heading into the sunshine:

We had lunch in sunshine and sparkling snow. The group including Kevin, Brian, Carolyn, Wendy, Barry, Jean, Aldis

Kevin insisted on taking pictures relieving the photo incompetent co-ordinator from the task. Thanks Kevin. We headed down and just over the ridge decided to avoid the trail and head down through the trees. The glades were open and made it easy to take any line you wanted. It was almost like skiing. We probably avoided at least a kilometer of trail and had a good time in the snow. Our President at her best:

We made it back quickly and stopped for beer and drinks the the lodge. Thanks to everyone for a great day.
