Given the excellent weather, the group decided at the trail head to do both Belmore Browne and Tiara Peaks.

We made good time across the cut blocks and up the creek. Headed up the South ridge of Belmore Browne, arriving at the summit 2 hours after leaving the trail head.

After a short break in the rock cleft below the summit, the group started the ridge traverse to Tiara Peak. The ridge included a number of short cliff bands, which allowed for some easy scrambling.

The normal route up Tiara peak, requires doing a 270 degree loop around the base of the summit block to reach the SW slope.

After crossing some rubble covered slabs on the East side of the peak, we turned the corner and headed up the broken rock of the SW slope.

We arrived at the summit of Tiara Peak at 1 PM, 4 hours after leaving the trail head. We were greeted with panoramic views, brilliant sunshine and almost no wind. The group sent 45 plus minutes on the summit having lunch and enjoying the great views.

We headed down from the summit at a leisurely pace, choosing neither of the Nugara descent routes, instead opting to descend a drainage between the two. After picking our way through the scree covered slabs at the top of the route, we were treated to snow slopes in the middle section of the drainage. This allowed everyone to practice their glissading technique.
