Pine Woods/Moose Creek loops--Jumping Pound Trail Hike on 8-Jan-2012

It was sunny, 6 degrees, with no wind—a great day for a walk in the woods, especially for early January. It was definitely a traction device day, however, and these were worth their weight in gold as the trail was icy in many places. For a change of hiking venue, we started from the Moose Creek Loop trailhead on the Jumpingpound Demonstration Forest road and did that loop and the Pine Woods Loop before following the Tom Snow Trail towards the Dawson trailhead. We were perhaps one or two km from there when we turned back. There was very little snow and the meadows were beautiful in the low sunlight.
