We found the meadows quite efficiently, which we traversed with much woomfing as the snow slab settled below us.
After lunch at the crest, we descended the gully to what the coordinator thought was the right spot, and then bashed and crashed through the woods, emerging into the creek a little below the big avalanche slope off the South West slopes of Mt Galatea.
At this point, needing a bit more bushwacking to feel properly punished, some of us laboured through the woods to emerge into the meadow above Elephant Rocks.
We all reconvened at Chester Lake, and enjoyed a fast run down back to the shuttle vehicle at Chester parking lot.
