Blueberry Hill Track Skiing on 7-Jan-2012

Fresh snow over the last couple of days made for good snow conditions, with mostly skier-set tracks on all trails followed on this day. At the Boulton Bridge parking it was a coolish -11C and the snow temp was -14C; most opted for green wax which worked well on the uphills. We moved along to get warmed up with the occasional stop at trail junctions:
Elk Pass - Fox Creek jct.
Elk Pass - Fox Creek jct.

It was sunny at the Blueberry turnoff which was our snack stop, but by the time we arrived at Blueberry Lookout the sun was veiled and the wind was cold (temp. was -10C). Brandy beans mitigated the cold a bit. We bundled up and headed back on an exhilarating downhill run and it was smooth sailing back to the cars. We finished an excellent day with a coffee stop at Kananaskis Village.

Participants: Ginger, Tom, Marianne, Barbara, John and Ron (C/S/P).
