Boulton Ski Trails (easy pace) Track Skiing on 4-Jan-2012

We avoided a windy day in Calgary and enjoyed a leisurely ski trip from Boulton Bridge to Elk Pass via Fox Creek and Elk Pass trails. The warm temperature, 4C, made choosing an appropriate wax difficult. Applying blue/purple over 2/3rds of my skis was sufficient to handle the rolling hills but we did not attempt Blueberry Hill as it would have been a challenge without skins. We returned via Tyrwhitt, Pocaterra and Packers trails. Sleet started to fall as we turned on to Packers and it had changed to wet snow/rain by the time we reached the parking lot. Otherwise an uneventful trip. Thanks to John and Nancy for joining me (Damian) on this 5 hour, 20km, 350m trip.
