The recent Chinooks allowed us to check out the expiring 2011 by taking a short and sweet hike under blue skies to Ole Buck Mountain. Other than a short stretch in the open right into a biting wind, it was lovely and mild—around zero—and the sunshine was warm. The trail was little used, thus not icy, as would a popular trail be, and the dry snow was not deep, so easy to walk through.
