The trail was groomed and trackset to Watridge Lake turnoff, but the nice trail stopped abruptly soon afterwards where a large tree across the trail prevented the equipment from going further. There were skier tracks beyond, but these were pitted deeply by boot prints of some hiker, which made downhills a bit trickier. There weren’t any good tracks to go up Currie Creek, so we continued to Bryant Creek where we had lunch just beyond the bridge. Afterwards the gents continued down the trail another half-hour, while the ladies began a more leisurely return, with a stop in the sun at the memorial bench above the trail part-way back. The temperature stayed above freezing all day. It was quite windy, but we were sheltered in the trees most of the way. Mid-afternoon the wind changed direction and felt colder, but worked to propel us faster on our travel back to the trailhead. Thanks to Dave for coordinating this trip (and driving), from Janice, Bruce and Barb (p,s).
