Starting and ending with very light shower close to lake we had very good day higher up. Sunny breaks with occasional cold wind and fantastic views. A lot of bear activity around there. After lunch in pass group decided for new route down: following ridge between Mt.Aylmer and Mt.Astley to lookout and then regular trail down. Very nice ridge walk with just a few tricky spots, 360 degrees views. Ridge is easy to follow/OT 4-5/. None of us did this route before so we were very content to accomplish that. One of group was 65 today -we had champagne and cake/with candles/ to celebrate. Number of seniors in club increased once again-unfortunately it is myself this time.
