Red Ridge/Sparrowhawk tarns loop Off-Trail Hike on 28-Aug-2010

A nice sunny day for one of the best ridge walks in the spray lakes area. After one hour of light bushwacking we left the trees behind and started up the ridge

There are opportunities for easy scrambling or the steepest sections can be bypassed on the right.

3 hours later we were at the high point were we had lunch in cool conditions

From the summit we continued to a low col and after a short traverse down a wide scree gully to Sparrowhawk tarns where we had a long siesta in warm sunshine
