The second bigger crossing was solved in almost as many ways as we had participants. We trudged up at a fairly brisk pace and the first were at the summit of Belmore Brown right about noon. It was breezy and cool on the ridge and so we had a quick break and regroup in the notch between the two summits.
Then it was off along the ridge towards Tiara Peak.
Four took a climbing route directly to the summit just left of the centre of the peak in the above photo. The rest took the SC5 scramble route almost all the way clockwise around the summit arriving somewhat later. We were all at the top by 2:30.
There are a couple of possible descent gullies directly down to the creek below. We took the southerly one.
This worked out fine, but Peter reports that the one a little further north, right under the climbers' route was a little nicer. We took several breaks on the way down and were at the cars before 5:00.
Many thanks to Becky, Hannah, Jeannine, Cordula, Dennis, Adrian (photos), Peter, and Wallace for joining me, Carl (C/S).
