Mt Lipsett 470014 Trail Hike on 26-Jun-2010
It must have been the promise of summer weather that brought out such a good size group. Sixteen left Heritage and four more joined at the trailhead. The trail was quite muddy near the bottom, but soon we were on the old road and starting to climb and the mud was mostly behind us. We saw lots of flowers (although Tom was disappointed to only count 26). After treeline we started to feel a cool wind. It turned into a cold wind as we started up the summit ridge with many stopping to find jackets and gloves. At the main summit we found shelter on a rocky area for a pleasant lunch. Thinking we would head to the outlier for our second lunch, we set off. But the wind made us rethink this idea and everyone was happy to head back lower and find a warm sunny spot instead.
