Ha Ling Peak 124573 Trail Hike on 8-Mar-2010

We just made it to the col in time to see Canmore, and to the top in time to enjoy the last 20 minutes of sunshine before the weather started to turn.
The weather forecast called for snow/rain late morning or early afternoon, so it was good that we moved up our start time by 30 minutes. We set off from Goat Creek around 10:30.

Florence was on her first Rambler trip and it was also her first time up Ha Ling.

We were able to show her Canmore from the col but by the time we reached the top a few minutes later it had disappeared into the fog.

We were at the top a little after noon. We huddled in one of the wind shelters and were able to enjoy our lunch with clouds swirling and views appearing and just as quickly disappearing. When we got a few flurries, we started back down.--invalid photo12094--
The weather and temperature remained reasonable for our return trip, and we stopped for coffee at Beamers in Canmore.

Many thanks to first-time Rambler Florence and to Sheila for joining me, Carl(C/S)
Three months down, nine to go.
