The access to the ridge above was a little challenging with frozen ground so two participants took the gully while the rest attained the ridge and eventually reached the sunshine in the upper larches:
We then clambered up the scree, with some of the rocks splotched with natural route markers:
The summit was reached a little after 1:00 where we had terrific views:
Then we descended to the Temple – Little Temple col:
from where we took the steep grassy ramp down to Temple Lake. As we walked along the shore we came across needles of gold piled among the rocks:
We had time to relax in the warm sun at the east end of the lake before the sun went hiding behind its namesake peak.
