Old Goat Glacier 140460 Off-Trail Hike on 7-Sep-2008
The day started with the group assembling at Shouldice, only one person was missing: the trip caller. In any event he was united with his flock at the trail head. It is an easy walk through the forest section and there was no water at the creek crossing, nor in the waterfall for that matter. Then it was time to get hot on the steep ascent of the headwall:

Old Goat Glacier: the steep ascent It was a little slippery in spots on wet mud and there was some residual snow from the recent cool weather. The moraine was fairly easy going and one marmot was sighted before we stopped for lunch with a view of the upper glacier:

On the whole, a good day for Michael, Rita, Cornelis, Wally, Ginger, Nardi, Mel,Paul, Eva,Gerard, David, Ron (scribe, photos) and Ron (coordinator).
