As we meandered through the many paths in the park we saw birds (jay, chickadees, nuthatches) and met lots of friends, also out for a stroll.
We stopped at a few high points to savour the views and finally settled on one for lunch.
We spent a relaxing 1/2 hour for lunch - sorry, Wally, that it wasn't the highest point but it was sure nice and sunny.
Near the Learning Centre we stopped to read about the Willans family and the barn Norman Willans built around 1918 when he lived here and worked for Pat Burns. He commuted daily, 13 km, to the Ranch (to the east) on horseback.
Nearby we passed a fenced protected area which Del said might be an hibernaculum (nesting site for snakes) and wondered what the silver sheets were.
Taking the paved path for our return we posed for a photo on one of the new bridges. Thanks to fellow meanderers Tom, Diane, Michael, Dusan, Sandy, June, Karel, Ken, Brenda, Wally, Sandra, Del, Alastair and Aldis. C/s/p Dorothy-Ann
