Jewel Pass - Prairie View Circuit Trail Hike on 16-Sep-2007

Perfect September weather for us. June lead a very relaxed group of 18, spread out along the trail, everyone picking their own speed. We went clockwise, around the lake to Jewel Pass, passing lots of mushrooms in the damp woods.

Temperature rose to a balmy 24 or so, which some people soaked up.

It was difficult to get a full group picture, as some lunched with a view east, some/ west, and some went on up to the lookout. But eventually the lazy mood facing west drew more back.

The trail was very busy, with people and bikes (some cyclists going around for a second time). I learned that the main ridge facing east is McConnell Ridge (hope I spelled that right), seen in this shot.

Thanks to June for calling a great hike and a great day, from... Denise, Joyce, Marian, Joanne, Linda, Robert, Dave, Beverly, Billy, Jeanne, Mary, Anna, Mario, Kathy, Darlene, Wally, and Karen scribe and photog.
