We arrived at Sunshine in lots of time for the bus. Unfortunately it gave us lots of time to think of reasons why we shouldn't go up as it was raining and the cloud cover was heavy. We were all adding clothes as the temperatures were very cool compared to what we left in Calgary. We went anyway. By the time the bus got to the top the rain stopped so we set off at a good pace to make sure we made the pass in lots of time to ensure we could take our time getting back to the last bus. The weather improved as we went and by Quartz ridge we had all shed our outer clothing as the sun came out. At first we didn't see much in the way of flowers and didn't have high expectations but by the first climb in the trees this all changed and the meadows were covered in paintbrush, spring beauty and many others.

Shortly after the clouds lifted and Mt Assiniboine came into view. We arrived at Citadel Pass in the sunshine and stopped for lunch.

Half an hour later threatening clouds started coming in so we decided to head back. Yet again it was a false alarm. The clouds dispersed and the weather remained fine and a very nice temperature. We made it back earlier than anticipated and all had a great day. Hopefully Caroline will add a couple of pictures.
