Sandy McNabb Ski Trails Track Skiing on 24-Feb-2007
The set tracks were new and crisp, the snow cold, the sky blue, the sun warm—pretty much another day in paradise at Sandy McNabb ski trails in the Sheep River and Bluerock Wildland Provincial Parks. We had lunch on the escarpment above the river, with sunny sky and light breeze, and did the clockwise loop around the lower trails (Loggers and Sandy McNabb loops). We stopped for coffee at Coyote Moon in Turner Valley on the way out to let it warm up from the –17C in Calgary overnight, but it was just below zero at the end of the day, so most could get away with blue wax. Some people saw a coyote on the drive out.
Participants: Dorothy-Ann, Bernard, Mario, Kathy, John, David, Ron, Barbara, Susan, Peter, Damian, Janet and Carl, coordinator and scribe.
