Abbot Pass ACC Hut Off-Trail Hike on 9-Sep-2006
Lake O'Hara scenery and colours as always-unreal. Weather held until we got back down to Lake Oesa then hell broke loose /pouring rain, lightning, thunder/ but just for 45 minutes- we survived. Route to Abbot Pass is now clearly marked but nasty, steep and always moving scree is still there. There was seven years old boy and gentleman who climbed Mt.Lefroy in 1956- what achievement! Four members of this group hiked Mt.Temple and agreed that Abbot Pass route is more difficult than that. Thanks everyone for contribution and Kim for booking bus. Special thanks to Mark from France /for taking over my virus/. 14.5 km, 935 m el.gain, max.el.2925 m. France, Kim, Alicja, John K., Bill H., Ivan.
