Mt. Lady MacDonald Teahouse (summit ridge) Off-Trail Hike on 22-Oct-2
Made it to the summit ridge top, and the October weather was incredible. The group left Cougar Creek PL at 8:50am and enjoyed the updated (and easier) trail up Lady Macdonald. The sun warmed us and slowly melted the frozen sections of the trail. Joe pointed out a route up the west end of Grotto that he went up years ago with Gurt. I will keep that idea for next year. The trail was mostly bare with icy sections in the shaded areas. The pace was moderate as there was no need to hurry. We summitted shortly after 12 noon. The narrow ridge to the north peak was too greasy to bother with. This ridge connects to Princess Anne Peak and will be a trip for next year.

Ridge to Lady Macdonald North PeakThe group enjoyed a leisurely lunch on the summit ridge with lots of sun and only a small amount of wind (once again a rare situation).

Joe, Barb, Ghulam, Peter, Jeannine, & Evelyn on Lady MacWe took our time going down by first stopping at the heli-pad to enjoy the awesome views. A little snow brings out all kinds of interesting features of the surrounding mountains.

Evelyn on the heli-pad on Lady MacStopped again on the way down and enjoyed the valley views. Great day for Joe, Barb, Ghulam, Peter, Jeannine, Evelyn and Allan (scribe and photographer)
