Mount Helen--Glacier Park Off-Trail Hike on 26-Aug-2005

To cut off 8 miles of valley forest we took the tour boat the length of Two Medicine Lake, and headed up the fine trail to Dawson Pass, on the Continental Divide in Montana’s Glacier National Park.

We saw 7 sheep in mother/young groups. This ewe stood guard in her airy perch, with the moon and brilliant blue sky as backdrop.

Four summited. It was quite windy on top. Flinch Peak stands in the background. We were back at the boat dock for the 5:15 cruise back to camp.
