The cool temperature at the start of the day made climbing up the trail quite comfortable. Later in the day a smoke haze gradually obscured most of the details of the mountains across the Bow Valley. Due to the calm conditions, Tower Lake mirrored the surrounding cliffs.

However, some light breezes allowed a mature bald eagle to soar up the face of Castle Mountain while we took a brief break before the climbing up to Rockbound Lake. We were joined for lunch by the abundant wildlife beside the lake.

After lunch we walked around the lake admiring the reflections and images on the rocks.
