Started trip at Moraine Lake PL at 7:30am and proceeded towards Wenkchemna Pass. After a fairly quick pace, we all arrived at Wenkchemna Pass by 10:30am. Had a short break and were descending down from the Pass by 11:00am into the Tokumm Valley. Once we reached the valley floor, we were able to see the Opabin Pass.

We hiked over to the toe of the first glacier and enjoyed the view of the lengthy Tokumm Valley.

We geared up and started our glacier traverse by 1:00pm.

We arrived at the Opabin Pass by 1:30pm and took in the views of the Lake O'Hara area and the Opabin glacier.

There was plenty of snow for an easy traverse over the "skiers left" side of the Opabin glacier. Just before we were off of the glacier by 2:15pm, we took a look at a collapsing snow bridge. --invalid photo2587--
The group then proceeded down to Opabin Lake and enjoyed a lengthy rest.

If we had started a half hour earlier, we could have made the 4:30 bus, BUT the extended rest in a beautiful area was a good trade off.
