But the final push to Huber was more than Sean's "snow plod". Sim chose the loose rock ridge, the rest of us followed Danielle up the 40 degree snow/ice eventually to the summit at 11.30am. The views were outstanding.
Since Greg and I did not like this ice route, we descended on Sim's rock which was not much better. It was now about 2.00pm and rock was tumbling down the Victoria gullies so we wound our way back to the Elizabeth Parker hut in the afternoon heat. Total 12 hours round trip, but about 4.5 hours from col to Huber summit and back to col (mostly due to my slow pace on ice and crappy rock). A great day. No equipment used on the Huber ledges.
