Upon arrival at a rather busy parking lot our hike began, the warmth of the sun being held back from the valley gave us a cooler first hour or so. Once turning onto the North Ribbon Creek trail it soon became more narrow and somewhat grown in, still being easy to follow. All three lakes being lower this time year, in an upper valley that opened the higher we ventured.

On this day at the monument, Upper Memorial Lake.

To see the monument pays for the effort of the extra steep elevation towards the end of the trail.
