Ridge SW of Mt Smuts (a.k.a. Smutwood) Off-Trail hike on 7-Sep-2023

4 hikers left parking lot at 9 am on relaxed pace only 1 degree C . Met many others on same hike plus one group going onto Fist; chatted with many of them. Lunched at Smutwood Pass.

Then three continued up onto Smutwood Peak with one remaining behind. On return met many going in and more chatting.

Was nice day with good temperature and visibility. Back at vehicles at 6 pm. 18.8 km 933 m .
