Cirque Peak Off-Trail hike on 24-Aug-2023
"Diversion", the act or an instance of diverting or straying from a course, activity as in they diverted from the planned trail. As we reached parking area, preparing ourselves for the day and our hike began. A nice trail all the way to Helen Lake and beyond. Cloud enveloping the surrounding peaks with little movement thru the day brought us to the choice of staying within the upper valley above the lake.

View towards Crowfoot Summit, and others, Bow Lake below.

Peaks to the west, staying hidden with cloud for most of day. This turned out to be a very good idea, a little exploring, discussion about what to do all came into play. A wonderful lunch, more talk, off again to regroup and visit the content Marmot.

Marmot in all it's glory. Another little diversion to a lookout point above the lake and off again down the trail.

Our high point for the day, upper valley above Helen Lake. Cirque Peak stayed hidden from us all the time we were there, but I think our excussion was well enjoyed, with many other trips talked about and possible plans for the future. I thank those for joining in on this outing to make for a wonderful pleasent day. I also thank Kim for driving to the parking area to meet us and let us know she was unable to join us. Participants: Margo, Teresa, Lenard, Jo, Kate. Scribe, Lenard. Total distance as per All Trails tracking, 16.63km, with total elevation 848 meters.
