It may have seemed early in the season to hike up Wasootch ridge but there was a very well established trail through the snow up the ridge. The weather was fabulous! Almost no wind, sunny and the temperature hovering around zero later in the afternoon. We never made it to the 1st cairn because the conditions were so pleasurable that we hiked at a leisurely pace stopping often to admire the scenery and to bask in the sun during a long lunch break. It was more important to enjoy the experience than to reach an objective. We greatly enjoyed each other's company starting our hike around 10:00am and finishing around 3:30pm.
