Wow, what a great day. While initially intended to be more of a ski day, we tweaked it to make for an adequate backcountry refresher to get our heads back in the game. Even though I'd helped with the b/c refresher on the 20th, a different group leads to different things to try. We did a rescue scenario, probing, fine search, slope evacuation, and a varied general discussion.

While we found a pretty good path down from Rock Glacier, the perfect path still eludes us. Regardless, practicing difficult bush travel is still a valid part of a b/c refresher. After the "work" part of the day, we headed up the creek, and gained some elevation on the south side of Pocaterra Ridge high point. It was good to see, discuss and set our up & down tracks on something we would actually ski . While we all followed Gord's uptrack, everyone insisted they could set a better down track.... And yes Carl, the snow conditions were terrible.

Thanks to this fun group Gerald, Dave, Gordon, Jenny, Bob, Margot for a fun day out.

Dave practicing setting a down track - a hard one to follow!
