It was a nice sunny day at the trailhead, although somewhat humid.

There were many kinds of flowers to be seen along the way. We also encountered one mushroom growing right in the middle of Elbow Trail, along with two horses (wild?) at the junction with the Nahahi Ridge Trail

The combination of heat and humidity finally got to the coordinator, who decided to stop for lunch just before the final climb to the viewpoint. The others in the group graciously decided to stop as well at that point. With an eye on the darkening clouds to the west, we departed back down to the trailhead about 1:15, accompanied by the occasional rumble of thunder, arriving back at the cars about 3 PM.
