A good fall day in the foothills started at -9C at the Fullerton parking lot but clear sunny skies made it feel warmer. It felt cold when we walked into the shade before warming up with the climb up the west side of Fullerton Loop, leaving behind some of the colder air sitting in the valley bottom. There was wind chill from a strong breeze from the west so most people kept a wind shell as an outer layer. For the most part the trail was snowy:

Some participants put on traction devices but it was not icy so some went without and did just fine. We arrived at our lunch stop at Baruch's Corner on Ranger Summit and the sunshine held with occasional high mist drifting over from unsettled looking weather brewing to the west:

A few other groups and occasional fat bikes passed by that spot, but it was not overly busy. We continued along Strange Brew before making the turn down Sugar Daddy which was a pleasant descent through sunny open forest:

We were back at the much fuller parking lot around 2pm where the temperature was +4C.

Our congenial group of participants were: Ron C/S/P, Madeleine (photo), Barbara, Ursula, Carmie, Linda, Robert, Brenda, David, Maria, Enrique, Janet and Lenard.
