This was a trip worth remembering on Remembrance Day, for a number of reasons. We had fine weather, great views, good conditions, a great crew, and we had a few minutes of silence at 11am to remember those before us who have fought for our never-to-be forgotten freedom in Canada.

We started up at 9am in mostly sunshine with a few clouds around (mostly valley mists), and reasonable temperatures. Even though the original trip was listed as a snowshoe, we elected to use boots and grippers only. The snow was very thin in the valley, but got deeper near the ridge top (~20cm) with some wind effect (drifting), particularly near trees and rocks.

Two people ahead of our group kindly broke trail. There was a buried wind/sun crust above 1900m, but it was not too troublesome.

The group was at the high point for a nice lunch about 12:30, but there was enough of a slight wind in the open to keep us from lingering too long.

The descent went quickly, we were back at the parking lot about 3pm.
