We each chose to drive solo to meet at the quiet trailhead by 8:30am and soon set off for the Skogan Trail and Pigeon Mtn. Although the air was still, it was cool (+9c) in the shade and a comfortable walking temperature. The faster group waited at all the trail intersections as we made our way steadiy upwards to the north summit for an early lunch. We leapfrogged with 3 serious mountain bikers who had a much faster descent than us. The meadows were full of flowers.

For descent, 3 preferred to return to the cars the same way while the other 5 walked over to the south summit and down the broad south ridge to meet the Skogan Pass Trail higher up and then back to the cars.

Ramblers on the south summit of Pigeon Mtn.

Conversations were abundant and covered varied topics including Covid-19 tactics. We all arrived back at the now full car park between 2:30pm and 3:00pm where we discovered a Shell hiking group. An uneventful return drive ended a very pleasant day. Best weather feature was no wind. Thanks everyone. Stats:15km, 1000m, 6 1/4 hours.
