Despite the horrible condition of the Trans-Alta road, where it now impossible to avoid deep potholes, almost everyone made it to the trailhead on time. After waiting about 15 minutes for some no-shows, we headed north up the bench to join the trail along the creek. The trail was in good condition, until we reached the cutline. The bottom third of the cutline trail was covered with flowing water and we made numerous detours to attempt to keep our feet dry.

We had a “stump lunch” at the top of the ridge. where the stumps happened to be spaced at a socially correct distance.

Peter - couldn't fit everyone into the same photo

After lunch we headed out onto the ridge, stopping several time to admire the view.

Looking West

Some flowers beside crocus and dandelions were finally making an appearance and we saw patches of shooting stars and one Indian Paintbrush. Just before reaching the cars, we passed some open toilet facilities which no-one seemed inclined to use.
