Wow.. what an excellent day with untracked, dry, boot top powder and 12 happy skiers. Temperatures were near -5 and winds were low. Since we were on the north side, we did not get any sun. The sun did peak out sporadically, making for nice views across the valley. I think there were lots of nice pictures taken today, views of the creek & views up the valley)

We were skiing near 9.30, and at our high point for 11.30. This area has two climb/ski pitches separated by a 500 m flat section, climbing up via the lookers left. We did a run, then back up to the high point for lunch. Then another run down.

Some of you may remember Chip had 2 x sunbrella's for sale this past summer. I was quick to snap one of them up. Rumour has it Dorothy (?) requested one but hasn't paid/collected it yet. Get it quick, prices may start climbing

Smokin Hot Turns

After run 2 , we discussed skiing in slide paths on the north/sunny side of the valley. We opted to stay in our north side slopes since the snow was great and we had the slopes to ourselves, and making lots of fresh tracks. For run 3, we climbed to the lookers right on the lower first pitch getting pretty close to the cliff face at the top. From there were able to choose from two slopes. Slope 1 was the pitch we could see from below. Slope 2 was further to the right by 30 m. Three skied this fresh slope (awesome) while the others took the last fresh snow... Our apologies to Sunday skiers, the best part of your day will be the uptrack we left for you!

Kudo's to the hold out Tele' skiers (Gary & Gerald) for making Gord sad about bringing out his new AT gear. Welcome to Andre for his 2nd RMRA trip. He passed the audition by breaking lots for trail. Mind you I think I was the only one who didn't break trail... co-ordinator always has to "sweep" the up track right...

Here is my Strava data for the day - https://strava.app.link/zjAvZstvz3 . Chip's tracker showed 13km & 1000m.

Thanks to all 12 who signed up, showed up, skied up, & down. I couldn't ask for funner & finer group. I think we were all glad to postpone our inevitable trip to Purple Bowl till another sunny day.

Participants: Christine, Terry, Gerald, Phyllis, Inge, Chip, Ulrike, Gordon, Jenny, Katrin, Gary, Andre.
