Ever since our ascent on a smoky day a couple of years ago i wanted to return to the Onion with clear skies, and this time the weather didn't disappoint.

At one time there was a small stepladder right by the chokestone over the canyon facilitating the climb for short legged people, but it's no longer there. In just under 4 hours we were at the wide summit enjoying the spectacular views and a refreshing breeze coming off the glacier (natural AC)

After a long lunch we retraced our steps arriving at a busy parking lot shortly after 5.
