A good day at Peter Lougheed Park, the -6C temp made for good kick and glide up WhiskeyJack and with weak sunshine it was warm enough at the Tyrwhitt picnic table to have an unhurried lunch. It had not been very busy until we got to Elk Pass, from there half the people we ran into seemed to be fellow Ramblers or ex Ramblers - many conversations ensued. Fox Creek and Moraine had skimpier snow although coverage was complete, they just tended to be a little slicker and had less defined tracks. Stan's GPS measured 16.7 km & 431 metres elevation gain, although the Kananaskis maps indicate greater distance.

Roads were mostly bare and dry although there was a sheep jam on Highway 40 near where you park for Baldy Peak. The same herd of six bighorns had been seen in the morning but further east on the other side of the hill along the highway.

Thanks to a great group of participants for joining me: Stan, Carmie, Anne & Barbara from Ron C/S/P.
