The temperature dropped as we progressed west to Lake Louise where it settled at -22C for the start of the skiing. There were some high thin clouds and fortunately no wind so conditions were tolerable. By the time we arrived at the Lake an hour & 15 minutes later the clouds had dissipated but the temperature was still around -20C. The sun played peak-a-boo behind Fairview so we had alternate shade and sunshine during our lunch break:

Didn't feel much warmer when the sun made a brief appearance

We went behind the Chateau on Upper Telemark and had a nice run down to Great Divide/1A and then onto Lower Telemark. Coverage there was good and we even got some welcome, but brief, solar radiation while skiing through the small meadows:

Good snow cover on Lower Telemark trail

The return on Great Divide was in the cold shade but the uphill grade kept us warm. Then it was back down Tramline, which with the cold snow was not an effortless glide, Sigh! The car thermometer claimed it had warmed up to -16C.

The mountain views were great with the clear and sunny conditions, thanks to those who joined me on New Year's Eve. Ron C/S/P with participants Clifton, Bruce, Anne, Barbara, Jane
