Construction continues to create a new day use area after Sentinel was destroyed by the flood of 2013. Just as we were leaving the parking area, two semi’s pulled up with components for a new outhouse as well as garbage receptacles.

It was a little chilly at the start as our parking area was in the shade but with the trail going uphill right away we soon warmed up. We paused a few times to keep the group together and then stopped for a short snack break at Grass Pass.

Onwards to the bump before the high spot for lunch arriving around 12:15. We found an area mostly sheltered, yet sunny spot for lunch.

After lunch we headed down to boundary pine for another photo op.

Then we continued on down the ridge and eventually picking a spot to descend. Two of the group went a little further down the ridge and found a less steep way down. The rest of us had a safe descent, although steeper.

Everyone was back at the cars by a little after 3pm. Thanks to the group for a great November day in the mountains! David c/s/p
