Apart from the clumping snow we all experienced due to, I think, warm temperatures and 1-2cms of fresh snow overnight it was a good day for me trying to remember how to ski on this, my first, ski trip of the winter. We left the trailhead around 9:45 am with Carl setting a track through maybe 1 cm of fresh snow and getting good glide on the packed trail beneath. Later in the day as it warmed, on the steeper bits, we all started to clump up under foot. We met a large group of snowshoers coming out from an overnight at Elizabeth Parker. Despite the clumping slowing us a bit we reached the lake for lunch around 12:30 pm. We were a little concerned we might have clumping on return but we had no problems with the fresh snow now being more packed down by ourselves and the snow shoers. Back at Carl's car around 2:15 pm. Thanks to participants: Damian,Carl,Richard from John for coming out. Thanks Carl for driving.
