This turned to be another good weather day with sunshine, little wind and good company. About 6 hours round trip for14 km and 800m vertical on a good trail with a scattering of snow. I don't think that anyone donned micro-spikes on the way up, but a few did on the way down including your scribe David.

With the aid of new signs, we were even able to follow the somewhat convoluted route constructed after the 2013 floods to gain the ridge without difficulty.

Ascent of Wind Ridge

We plodded up this with a few breaks to reach a broken 8 metre cliff band which we scrambled up relatively smoothly. We continued to reach the summit about 12.30pm for lunch. Neglible wind, so quite pleasant in the sunshine.

Mt. Rimwall from summit of Wind Ridge

After identifying most of the surrounding peaks we descended the way we came. The few cms of snow was a bit slippery causing some to wear microspikes.

Descending crux step on Wind Ridge

With a few breaks we reached the cars around 3.30pm and Calgary about 4.30pm. A very pleasant day with equally good company including Julien on his first RMRA trip. Welcome.
