Despite a dark and drizzly morning it turned out to be a pretty decent day. By the time we reached the parking lot, the low clouds had lifted and it looked like we would get a few sunny breaks--we did later on. The trail was wet, but not icy. We did not run into any snow until above Arnica Lake and it never got above boot top depth.

Arnica Lake

It was around 4 degrees at lunch and well protected from the wind. There were several groups on the trail, but it never seemed excessively crowded. We met fellow Ramblers Gordon and Jenny who were looking after visitors from Edmonton. They managed to join us for the group photo!

The gang plus a couple of extras!

Fortunately the sun came out to highlight the bright larches.

The return trip was easy and fast. We saw a group of three grouse feeding on berries in the forest above vista Lake.
